PC too slow and cluttered?

Brand name computers come "bundled" with all sorts of unnecessary pre-installed programs that load automatically at startup including manufacturer specific software, iTunes updates, various browser add-ons such as Yahoo toolbar, Bing toolbar, Google toolbar, etc, etc. The list seems endless. Usually the computer user doesn't use or want these programs, yet the manufacturer gets paid to install this "bloatware" so they put in on your computer anyway.
