Default Personal Data Storage Locations

TIP: Having trouble finding certain files? Just click START > Search > then enter part of a file name,

when you see the file you're looking for just right click it  and then click "Open file location".

Or for example if you are searching for ALL of your mp3 files then search for ".mp3".

Locations of default storage folders

 

iTunes MP3's --

Windows XP

C:\Documents and Settings\[User account name]\My Documents\My Music\

 

Windows 7 / Vista

C:\Users\[User account name]\My Documents\My Music\

Quickbooks .qbw files --

Windows XP

C:\Quickbooks\

Windows 7 / Vista

Use the Windows search function to search for ".qbw"

Turbo Tax --

Use the Windows search function to search for ".Tax2008" or "Tax.2209", etc.

Internet Explorer bookmarks --

Outlook .pst and .ost files --

Windows 7 / Vista

Use the Windows search function to search for ".pst" or ".ost".

Should be located somewhere within the C:/Users/[user name]/AppData folder.

Thunderbird emails --
