Do you have critical data on your computer that is not backed up to a secondary media? MP3's? Documents? Photos?

PCR offers FREE backup of the first 100 GB of data. Step ONE of any repair is to save any critical data that you haven't previously backed up. PCR takes various precautions including using an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to protect against power failure during servicing, by error checking drives, and by verifying file size of each file as it is backed up to help insure that the backed up files are identical to the original source files. You may wish to back up your data yourself if possible.

Palisades Computer Repair will make a good faith effort to protect your data. Protecting your data is priority one, however neither Palisades Computer Repair nor it’s repair tech will be legally liable for any loss, alteration or corruption of data, nor any loss of time, business, anticipatory profits, or special or consequential damages by accepting any item for data recovery, and/or repair / alteration / enhancement. Customer is fully responsible to backup any important data, software, settings, information and/or files on their computer, and to remove any media (such as CD's, DVD's and memory cards) from their product. 

All computer repair businesses have a similar clause on their work order forms that the customer must sign off on before work is performed. No matter how skilled and careful a tech may be, there can be unavoidable events. A hard drive could die in the middle of servicing, existing viruses can damage a system, a firmware module or logical volume manager can fail or become corrupted, etc.

FURTHER, I AGREE THAT WHETHER OR NOT I REQUEST BEST BUY TO BACKUP ANY DATA, SOFTWARE, INFORMATION AND/OR FILES, IN NO EVENT SHALL BEST BUY AND/OR ITS THIRD PARTY SERVICE PROVIDER BE LIABLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES FOR ANY LOSS, ALTERATION, OR CORRUPTION OF ANY DATA, SOFTWARE, INFORMATION, FILES, OR LOSS OF ANY OTHER MEDIA FROM MY PRODUCT.
